Caleb Gonzalez

In the summer of 2002, shortly after his diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Caleb Gonzalez attended Camp UOTS for the first time, and his life was forever changed. From feelings of isolation among his peers at school, that summer he created bonds and fostered friendships that helped him navigate his journey as a survivor that he still carries with him today.

The feeling that helped him in his journey became something he wanted to share and help other children achieve—and so for every summer, for nearly 20 years, he has been a full time counselor with Camp UOTS and has seen his role expand over the years. He continues to serve as his role as Lead Counselor and is now the Vice President of our Board of Directors.

Outside of camp, Caleb is an insurance professional with a decade of experience serving Floridian’s needs by assisting them in navigating all the hurdles the industry can throw at them. He uses his organizational skills to foster a culture of inclusion, developing trust, and a focus on team building that he pushes for professionally, to ensure that Camp UOTS volunteers, campers, and their families feel that same sense of belonging he did during his first summer as a camper.
